Tirthankar Mukharjee, Kolkata : Seven Bangladeshi nationals, including three women, were arrested by the Border Security Force from different places in the Border area of the South Bengal Frontier for illegally crossing the border. Out of these, 03 Bangladeshi nationals were caught while going from India to Bangladesh and 04 Bangladeshi Nationals were arrested while crossing the International Border and entering India.
On 29 June, 2021 at around 0530 hrs, the troops of Border Out Post Khandua, 78 Battalion posted in the border area of Malda district apprehended two Bangladeshi Nationals crossing the International Border. Identity of the arrested persons
I) Mamoon Sheikh, S/o- Janul Haque
ii) Habib Shaikh, S/o- Lateef Sheikh,
Both are residents of village- Ghotpara, PS- Chapainwabganj, District Chapainwabganj, Bangladesh.
In another incident, the troops of 112 Battalion posted in the Border,BSF area of North 24 Parganas district apprehended 05 Bangladeshi nationals by running an operation in their border area. Out of which 02 male, 02 female including 01 child are involved. whose identity is:-
i) Minal Biswas, age 26 years, Village-Agadia, P.O.-Agadia, Police Station-Norel District-Norel, (Bangladesh)
ii) Sheikh Ashraful Alam Nizam, Age – 30 Years, Village – Mygram, Post Office – Mahajan Bazar, District – Norel, (Bangladesh)
iii) Bilkis Sekh, Age 26 Years, Village- Bakra, Post- Bakra Bazar, District- Jessore, (Bangladesh)
iv) Afiya Sekh (Daughter- Bilkis Sekh)
v) Arina Bristy, age – 14 years, Village – Cheguria, Police Station – Satkhira, District – Satkhira (Bangladesh)
On interrogation, Bikish Sheikh revealed that she had come to India 12 years ago, and after coming to India had married an Indian named Firoz Sheikh, one and a half years ago she went to her home in Bangladesh and today When she was coming back to India with her daughter, she was caught by the BSF. The woman also told that she had also given 10 thousand rupees to an Indian broker named Anarul to cross the border. Habib Sheikh, who was caught at the Border Out Post Khandua, told that he works as a mason in Cuttack, Odisha and was going back to Bangladesh with the help of Indian broker(Tout) Kabir Sheikh. For which he had given Rs 5000/- to the Indian broker. But while leaving, the Border Security Force caught him.
The arrested 07 Bangladeshi nationals were handed over to the concerned Police Stations for further legal action.
BSF state in a official statement that the Border Security Force is taking strict steps to prevent infiltration along the India-Bangladesh Border. Due to which the infiltrators and touts are facing difficulties and some of them are getting caught and they are also being punished according to the law.
