Smugglers indulged minors in cross-border crimes by luring money, two Bangladeshi nationals and two children were apprehended by BSF


Tirthankar Mukharjee, Kolkata : On August 10, 2021, two children were apprehended by BSF under South Bengal Frontier in the bordering area of ​​Nadia district while helping in infiltration of two Bangladeshi nationals.

In a statement issued by the BSF, it was atated that on Tuesday afternoon, the troops of 54 Battalion Border Out Post Vijaypur launched a special operation on the basis of information from the Intelligence Branch. During the operation, the jawans apprehended two Indian children while they were helping to illegally cross the International Boundary of two Bangladeshi nationals.

Apprehnded persons have been identified as MD Shahinur Rahman, 33 years, s/o – MD Salim Rehman, Village – Jagannathpur, Police Station – Kotachandpur, District – Jhenaidah, Bangladesh, ii) Nasreen Khatoon, 25 Yrs, W/o – Mohd Shahinur Rehman, Village- Andulia, PS Chuwagachha, District Jessore, Bangladesh. Two children were arrested whose identity is Sudip Pal, age 17 years, S/o – Sushil Pal and Suresh Sardar, age 12 years, s/o – late Kanai Sardar, both are residents of village Banpur, PS Krishnaganj, District Nadia, West Bengal.

In further investigation, both the Bangladeshi nationals revealed that they are husband and wife and Mohammad Shaheenur Rahman was going to Kolkata for cancer treatment. He further revealed that he had given 20,000/ Bangladeshi Taka to an unknown Bangladeshi tout to cross International Boundary, the same tout contacted Indian tout Biswa Biswas. After crossing the international Boundary, they met Sudip Pal and Suresh Sardar, who were sent by Biswa Biswas to take them upto Banpur village.

Sudip Pal and Suresh Sardar revealed that Biswa Biswas of Banpur village has given them 200/- rupees each to bring two Bangladeshi nationals from bank of river to Banpur village. All apprehnded persons had been handed over to Police Station Krishnaganj for further legal action.

Deshraj Singh, Commanding Officer of the 54 Battalion stated that BSF is taking strict steps to prevent illegal movement and infiltration along the Indo-Bangladesh border, as a result of which many people and touts are being apprehended. Touts are indulging the poor and innocent school- boys of the bordering area by luring them with a small amount of money, thus, spoiling their lives. Further, the officer stated in clear words that we will not allow any kind of cross-border crime to happen in our area.
