BSF THWARTED THE PLANS OF SMUGGLERS AND SEIZED MEDICINES WORTH Rs 5.95 LAKH

Tirthankar Mukharjee, North 24 Parganas : On 28 November, 2021 troops of BSF under South Bengal Frontier seized various types of medicines worth Rs 5.95 lakhs from the International Border. All these medicines were being smuggled from India to Bangladesh trough Border Out Post Kaijuri, 153 Battalion, North 24 Parganas district.

On November 28, 2021, based on specific information, the troops of Border Out Post Kaijuri, 153 battalion, Sector Kolkata conducted a search operation in the area around Kaijuri Bazar near the International Border. According to the received information, at around 1030 hrs, the Search Party found one bag hidden in a bamboo bush.

When the Search Party thoroughly examined the suspicious bag, various types of medicines (Gryfloss Human Serum, Artamin Tablet, Pirfenex Tablet) were found which were meant for Lung Treatment, Pain and Inflammatory Relief and Vitamins from inside. All the seized medicines have been handed over to Custom Office Tetulia for further legal action.

The Public Relations Officer, South Bengal Frontier, expressed happiness over the achievements of the 153 battalion troops. He stated that our intelligence department is working for who is behind the seized medicines. He also stated that this type of smuggling has been stopped only because of the alertness displayed by their jawans on duty.
