Tirthankar Mukharjee, Kolkata : On August 05, 2021, Border Security Force under South Bengal Frontier apprehended 02 Bangladeshi nationals and 01 Indian national while trying to cross the International Boundary from the area of Border Out Post Hakimpur, 112 Battalion, under North 24 Parganas District.
On 05 August, 2021 at around 1705 hrs, the troops of Border Out Post Hakimpur, 112 Battalion, Sector Kolkata were on their daily routine patrolling duty. The Patrolling team noticed the movement of a suspected person who was trying to move towards India from Bangladesh side. Border Security Force troops chased him and apprehended him. The apprehended person has been identified as 1) Rakib Ghazi, (age 19 years old), S/o- Arul Ghazi, Village- Hamidpur, Post- Hamidpur, Thana- Kalarwa, District- Satkhira, Bangladesh.
On the same day around 1730 hrs, Border Security Force troops apprehended 01 Bangladeshi woman and 01 Indian man while crossing the International Boundary illegally from India to Bangladesh whose identity 1) Mohammad Ameerul Islam, age 36 years, S/o- Ayesh Mohammad, village- Jagannathpur, Post- Jagannathpur, PS- Harishchandrapur, District- Malda, West Bengal. 2) Sandhya Biswas, age about 54 years, W/o– Late Bhavani Biswas, Village – Fatla, Post Office – Fatla Bazar, Police Station – Terokheda, District Khulna, Bangladesh.
During preliminary questioning, Raqib Ghazi revealed that he is a citizen of Bangladesh. About 05 years ago, he crossed the Border illegally for the first time to meet his maternal uncle named Ibrahim who is from Kulberia, Barasat, North Lives in 24 Parganas. He revealed that he stayed there for 3 months and then went back to Bangladesh illegally crossing the International Boundary. He revealed that today he was again trying to come to India by crossing the Border but the Border Security Force troops apprehended him.
During preliminary questioning, Sandhya Biswas revealed that she is a Bangladeshi citizen and had crossed the International Boundary illegally 10 years ago to India. She further revealed that after coming to India, she stayed at Suman Vishwas house on rent (Village- Nata Bari, Kizarbogi, Post Office Godpukuria, Thana- Bagda, District- North 24 Parganas). She revealed that today she was trying to cross the International Boundary illegally from India to Bangladesh to meet her daughter when the Border Security Force troops on duty caught her.
Amirul Islam revealed that he is an Indian citizen. He revealed that he was going to Bangladesh to meet his uncle, whose name is Oahab Mohammad who lives in village Sarkar Modh, Post Office – Ranihati Bazar, Thana – Sahiba Ganj, District – Chapainwabganj, Bangladesh.
He revealed that he was trying to cross the border with the help of an unknown Indian tout. He further revealed that he had given ₹ 10,000 to the Indian broker. But as he was trying to cross the International Boundary, the Border Security Force troops on duty apprehended him
All the apprehended persons have been handed over to Swarupnagar police station. Shri Narayan Chandra, Commanding Officer, 112 Battalion rejoiced at the achievements of his troops, as a result of which 112 Battalion apprehended 02 Bangladeshi citizens and 01 Indian nationals.
He stated that the BSF is working strictly on the border, due to which every move of the touts is failing. He surther stated that every day illegally crossing the International Boundary is being caught in his area
