BSF seized 597 Yaba tablets on Indo-Bangladesh Border


Tirthankar Mukharjee, Kolkata : On July 25, 2021, the troops of Border Security Force under South Bengal Frontier seized 597 Yaba tablets and about 41 grams of Yaba tablets powder on the Indo-Bangladesh border. The estimated value of the seized Yaba tablets and Yaba tablet powder is Rs 4,98,778. These Yaba tablets were being smuggled from India to Bangladesh from the area of ​​Border Out Post Charbhadra Forward, 141 Battalion, District- Murshidabad.

On July 25, 2021, at around 1245 hrs, the troops of Border Out Post Charbhadra Forward, 141 Battalion conducted a search operation near International Boundary . During operation, they found a black colored polythene bag near the fence. On opening it, they found 597 yaba tablets and about 41 grams of powder of yaba tablets from the polythene bag.

The seized yaba tablets and it’s powder have been handed over to Police Station Jalangi for further legal action.

Shri N S Rautela, Commanding Officer, 141 Battalion expressed happiness over the vigilant duty of his Battalion troops, resulting in seizure of Yaba tablets. He stated that this has been possible only because of the alertness of his troops on duty. He further added that our troops are fully determined and committed to fulfill the resolution of Zero smuggling on the border.
