BSF apprehended two smugglers with Phensedyl on the Indo–Bangladesh Border


Tirthankar Mukharjee,Murshidabad : The troops of 117 Battalion under South Bengal Frontier BSF apprehended two Indian smugglers with 150 bottles of Phensedyl . Smugglers were trying to take all these Phensedyl bottles from India to Bangladesh.

On May 12, 2022, at around 0530 hrs, troops of Border Out Post Bamnabad, 117 Battalion, succeeded in apprehending two Indian smugglers. On searching them, 150 bottles of Phensedyl were recovered from their possession.

The two apprehended smugglers have been identified as Faisal Shaikh (age 40 years), S/o– Emazuddin Singh Village – Nutan Bamanabad, Post – Qazipara, Police Station – Sagarpara, District – Murshidabad and Rinku Saikab, S/o – Nazrul Shaikh, Village – Pola Giri, Post – Bamanabad. , Thana – Sagarpara District – Murshidabad.

The arrested smugglers told that they had taken these Phensedyl bottles from Shakrul Shaikh, S/o- Bablu Shaikh, Village- Khairtala, Post- Shibnagar, Thana-Sagarpara. After crossing the duty line of BSF, these Phensedyl bottles were to be handed over to Ripon Shaikh, S/o-Kalam Shaikh, Village Yusufpur, Post-Charghat District Rajshahi (Bangladesh).

The apprehended smugglers and the seized items have been handed over to the Police Station Raninagar for further action.

Shri K S Mehta, Commanding Officer, 117 Battalion, BSF expressed happiness over the alertness of its troops and stated that their troops are fully determined and committed to prevent cross border crimes and smuggling.
