Troops of 107 Bn BSF , South Bengal Frontier, on October 11, 2021, at night about 1100 hrs, based upon reliable information launched an operation in the area of responsibility of Border Out Post- Laxmipur. In the operation, one Bangladeshi smuggler was nabbed with 150 phensedyl which is estimated yo be Rs 27998/-.
During preliminary interrogation, the apprehended person was identified as Mohammad Shimul, age 27, who is a resident of Afra village in Jessore district of Bangladesh. During interrogation, he revealed that these phensedyl bottles were given to him by Abhijeet, a resident of Laxmipur village. As per him, this consignment was to be given to a smuggler named Nadir in Bangladesh. For this work Nadir was to give him 6000 B.D Taka.
The Bangladeshi national arrested by the Border Security Force has been handed over to the police station Bagdah along with the confiscated items for further action.
The Public Relations Officer of South Bengal Frontier stated that the Border Security Force is taking strict measures to prevent smuggling along the Indo-Bangladesh border.
Consequently, miscreants involved in such crimes, touts and their associates are facing difficulties and some of the smugglers involved in them are also being caught and they are being punished according to the law.
