Tirthankar Mukharjee,North 24 Parganas: On 5th November, 2021 Border Security Force troops under South Bengal Frontier apprehended five Bangladeshi and three Indian nationals, while illegally crossing the Border from the area of Border Out Post Hakimpur, Tarali, Amudia, ICP Petrapole, Border Out Post Kaijuri, and Tentulberia, District North 24 Parganas.
On 5th November, 2021, acting promptly on intelligence input, the jawans of the BOP Hakimpur apprehended a Bangladeshi and an Indian national namely Mubarak Shaukat Ali, age 58 years, father Late Shaukat Ali, Town Sector 36, Post Office Navi Mumbai, PS – Navi Mumbai, District – Thane, India and Malati Biswas, age 55 years, Father Late Purnachandra Brahma, village Ruyar Kul, PS Chitalmari, District Bagerhat, Bangladesh.
On 5th November, 2021, in another incident, on receipt of reliable information, the jawans of BOP Tarali, apprehended a Bangladeshi national on the Border. He disclosed his identity as Jerin, age 26 years, father Late Abdul Jabbar, village Nababganj, PS Nababganj, District Dhaka, Bangladesh.
On 5th November, 2021 in another incident, acting on an information, the troops of BOP Amudia apprehended a Bangladeshi national on the Border, identified as Faizal Islam, 22 years, father Abdul Halder, village Dimannian, PS Bagerhat, District Bagerhat, Bangladesh.
On 5th November, 2021, in another incident, the troops of ICP Petrapole apprehended an Indian national, identified as Shiv Kumar, age 20 years, father Arun Kumar, village Moyna, PS Gaighata, District North 24 Parganas.
On 5th November, 2021, in another incident, troops of Border Out Post Kaijuri and Tentulberia jawans, apprehended 01 Indian and 02 Bangladeshi nationals respectively, identified as 1. Gobinda Chandra Sadhu, age 35 years, father Late Swapan Sadhu, village Dandirhat, PS Basirhat, District North 24 Parganas, 2. Amir Hamza, age 25 Years, father Mohammad Ibrahim Khalil, village Ramchandrapur, PS Saharsa, District Jessore, Bangladesh, 3. Zahidul Islam, Age 21 Years, father Mohammad Abdul Zubar, village Salta, PS Saharsa, District Jessore, Bangladesh.
During the initial questioning, it was revealed that some of the apprehended persons were coming to India in search of work and some persons were trying to go to Bangladesh to meet their relatives.
All the apprehended persons have been handed over to the concerned Police Stations for further legal action.
