Border security forces arrested 01 Bangladeshi smuggler and rescued cattle from smugglers


Tirthankar Mukharjee, Malda : On the midnight of 01/02 September 2021, the troops of the 78 Battalion, BSF Nimita, acting on the information of the Intelligence Department, succeeded in apprehending the 01 Bangladeshi smuggler along with 02 cattle when he was crossing the Ganges.The apprehended smuggler identified- Mohammad Suman Reza,S/o- Jamaluddin, Village- Thootapara
Post Office – Sahapara, Police Station – Shivganj, District – Chapainwabganj (Bangladesh).

During interrogation, the Bangladeshi smuggler revealed that he had come to India’s village Madana (Aurangabad, Nimita) illigally at night about 06 months ago, crossing the Indo-Bangladesh border to his uncle house, where he worked as a mason.

On August 29, 2021, he met a smuggler, Dilbar Sheikh, and on September 01, 2021, took two cattle and planned to smuggle it . As soon as the cattle came near the border, the BSF came and apprehended them. During interrogation, the smuggler also revealed that he was supposed to get Rs 25,000 after crossing two cattle. He revealed that these cattle were to be given to Bakul, S/o- Nurul, Village – Thootapara, Bangladesh.

Bangladeshi smugglers was handed over to police station Shamsher Ganj for further action by BSF for legal action.

Rahul, Officiating Commanding Officer, 78 Battalion has expressed happiness over the achievements of his jawans, which resulted in the apprehended of 01 smuggler and rescued of 02 cattle. He stated that this has been possible only because of the alertness shown by his jawans on duty.
